Experimental study of ruthenium volatilization from boiling nitric solution

As part of study the volatilization ruthenium behaviour in a boiling nitric solution, this paper presents results experiments dealing with influence different parameters (Ru and HNO3 concentrations, temperature, water addition) effect in-situ inhibitors to mitigate potential releases. The amount Ru volatilized from solution heated at 130 °C is about 2% initial inventory. addition low allowed prevent volatilization. Alternative strategies examined restrict are temperature decrease “water feed”, later more efficient.
